Mobile & IoT Forensics
Android, iOS, SIM cards and IoT devices

Phones turn up in almost every case now and the small devices around them are catching up. This track covers Android and iOS phones, SIM and memory cards, drones and smart home devices. Each course follows the same path. Seize the device correctly, get the data out in a way you can defend, read it with care and write it up so that a court can follow.
Practical work happens in the DFRTI Mobile and IoT Forensics Lab, which is set up for Android and iOS devices, SIM and memory cards, smart home gadgets and drone logs. You learn on free tools such as ALEAPP, iLEAPP and Autopsy next to commercial suites, so you know why a tool shows what it shows. Android, iOS and SIM / Memory Card Forensics count towards the DCMFE certification. Drone and IoT Device Forensics count towards the IoT / Drone Forensics Certificate.
