Surveillance & Image / Video Forensics
CCTV and DVR footage, metadata and deepfake detection

CCTV footage now shows up in a wide range of cases, from a shop theft or a chain snatching to a road accident or a dispute at a gate. Photos and videos from phones are close behind. Some of them are edited or fully made by AI. This track teaches you to collect, examine and explain image and video evidence without damaging it or claiming more than it shows.
The three courses move from the recorder to the file to the question of authenticity. CCTV / DVR Analysis covers getting footage out of Hikvision, Dahua and other recorders correctly. Image & Video Metadata covers what EXIF, XMP and MP4 atoms can tell you. Deepfake / AI Forensics covers manipulated and generated media and the limits of every detection method. Practical work takes place in the DFRTI Image / Video and CCTV Forensics Lab.
