2. PROHIBITED USE OF DFRTI CONTENT

3. PERMITTED USE – PERSONAL EDUCATIONAL LICENSE

DFRTI grants enrolled students and authorized users a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access materials only for personal learning.

You may:

  1. Access course videos and PDFs within the LMS
  2. Use tools for educational and training purposes ONLY
  3. Download resources for personal reference
  4. Complete assignments and simulations
  5. Use DFRTI content for career learning and skill development

You may NOT:

  1. Share login credentials
  2. Share downloaded files
  3. Distribute exam materials
  4. Offer tutoring using DFRTI content
  5. Upload training materials elsewhere

4. TOOLS, SOFTWARE and DOWNLOADS

DFRTI provides digital forensic tools, utilities, datasets and scripts for training purposes only.

You are not permitted to:

  1. Decompile, modify or reverse-engineer tools
  2. Repackage or sell DFRTI tools
  3. Upload tools to other websites or GitHub
  4. Claim ownership or authorship
  5. Use tools in unauthorized investigations
  6. Use them commercially without permission

DFRTI retains full ownership of all downloadable assets.

5. TRADEMARKS & BRAND USAGE

The following are trademarks of DFRTI:

  1. DFRTI (name and short form)
  2. Digital Forensics Research & Training Institute
  3. DFRTI logo
  4. DFRTI Certification Seals
  5. Course badges (DCFA, DCMFE, DCNI, etc.)
  6. Design elements, color themes and brand identity

You may not use DFRTI trademarks:

  1. On resumes without valid certification
  2. In business promotions
  3. In training programs
  4. On websites, blogs or YouTube
  5. For marketing or advertising

Approved usage requires written permission.

6. STUDENT-GENERATED CONTENT

Some DFRTI platforms allow student submissions (assignments, projects, forums).

By submitting content, you:

  1. Grant DFRTI a license to store, display, evaluate and archive the content
  2. Confirm it does not violate any third-party rights
  3. Acknowledge that plagiarism may lead to removal or academic penalties

Student submissions remain the intellectual property of the student,
BUT DFRTI retains the right to:

  1. Use anonymized student projects for academic demonstration
  2. Store materials in LMS history
  3. Review submissions for academic integrity

7. RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS & CASE STUDIES

All research content—including:

  1. Evidence analysis models
  2. Forensic methodologies
  3. Digital investigation frameworks
  4. Case studies
  5. In-house tools
  6. Whitepapers

is fully protected.

You may NOT:

  1. Republish DFRTI research
  2. Use DFRTI methodologies for competing services
  3. Present DFRTI findings as personal work
  4. Use DFRTI tools/data in external research without permission

Permission-based use will require:

  1. Citation guidelines
  2. Partnership approval
  3. Legal agreements (if applicable)

8. VIOLATION & ENFORCEMENT

  1. DFRTI actively protects its intellectual property.

    Violations may result in:

    1. Account suspension
    2. Permanent LMS ban
    3. Certification revocation
    4. Denial of future enrollment
    5. Legal notices under IP laws
    6. Claims for financial damages
    7. Reporting to employers or authorities (if required)
  1. We pursue legal enforcement for unauthorized distribution of training materials.

9. REPORTING COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT
