Refund & Cancellation Policy

At DFRTI – Digital Forensics Research & Training Institute, we are committed to delivering high-quality digital forensics training, certification programs, research resources and professional development services.
To ensure fairness, transparency and compliance, this Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms under which refunds or cancellations may be requested.

By enrolling in any DFRTI program or purchasing access to our training services, you agree to the conditions described below.

1. GENERAL POLICY OVERVIEW

DFRTI provides both digital (online) and physical (offline) training services, along with downloadable materials, forensic tools, LMS access, certification exams and research-based programs.

Because many of our resources are instantly accessible and digitally delivered, refunds are limited and governed by strict academic and administrative guidelines.

This policy applies to:

  1. Online Courses
  2. Offline/On-Campus Training
  3. Certification Programs
  4. Workshops & Bootcamps
  5. Corporate Training
  6. Membership/Subscription Plans
  7. Downloadable Tools & Digital Content
  8. Research Access & Specialized Programs

2. DIGITAL PRODUCTS & DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT

Refunds are NOT provided for any of the following:

  1. Downloadable forensic tools
  2. Digital course materials
  3. Software packages or scripts
  4. PDF guides, manuals or datasets
  5. LMS-based downloadable content
  6. Virtual lab access
  7. Recorded sessions

Once access is granted or a file has been downloaded, the sale is considered final and non-refundable.

3. ONLINE COURSES & LMS ACCESS

Refunds for online training are limited because:

  1. Course content is immediately accessible
  2. Access logs, downloads and LMS activity begin instantly
  3. Digital forensics video content is downloadable or viewable after purchase

3.1 Refund Eligibility for Online Courses

A refund may be granted only if:

  1. No modules, videos or downloads have been accessed and
  2. The refund request is made within 48 hours of enrollment.

3.2 Non-Refundable Conditions (Online Courses)

Refunds will NOT be issued if:

  1. Any part of the course is accessed
  2. LMS login has occurred
  3. Course materials have been downloaded
  4. Assignments, quizzes or exams were started
  5. Certificates have been issued
  6. Discounts/coupon codes were used
  7. Enrollment was purchased during promotional campaigns

4. OFFLINE / ON-CAMPUS TRAINING

4.1 Refund Eligibility

A partial refund (up to 50%) may be considered if:

  1. The student cancels at least 7 days before the batch start date
  2. No materials or toolkits were collected
  3. No practical lab access was used

4.2 Non-Refundable Conditions

  1. All course fees, certification fees and training fees:

    1. Must be paid in full
    2. Are processed through secure third-party gateways
    3. Are non-transferable

5.2 Refund & Cancellation

No refund will be issued if:

  1. Cancellation occurs within 7 days of training start
  2. Student fails to attend without prior notice
  3. Training has already commenced
  4. Lab access, equipment or materials are used

5. CERTIFICATION EXAMS & SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

Due to the sensitivity of digital forensics certification exams, including DCFA, DCMFE, DCNI and specialized tracks:

5.1 Non-Refundable

All certification exam fees are non-refundable, including:

  1. Exam attempts
  2. Re-attempt fees
  3. Evaluation fees
  4. Digital certificate costs
  5. Verification requests

5.2 Rescheduling

Rescheduling may be allowed once with valid justification and supporting documents.

6. WORKSHOPS, BOOTCAMPS & EVENTS

Refund Eligibility

100% refund if DFRTI cancels or postpones the event

50% refund if the participant cancels 5+ days before the event

Non-Refundable

Cancellations within 5 days

No-shows or late arrivals

Digital workshop content or recordings

7. CORPORATE TRAINING & CUSTOM PROGRAMS

Corporate bookings involve planning, scheduling and custom content development.

Refund/ Cancellation Rules

30% advance is non-refundable

Custom module development fees are non-refundable

Cancellation beyond 10 days of scheduled training results in 50% deduction

Cancellation within 10 days results in no refund

8. SUBSCRIPTIONS / MEMBERSHIPS

DFRTI may offer subscription models for:

  1. Toolkits
  2. Resource libraries
  3. Premium content
  4. Lab environments

Refund Policy

Payments for memberships are non-refundable

Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund past charges

9. TRANSFER OF ENROLLMENT

Under certain conditions, DFRTI may allow:

  1. Transfer to another batch
  2. Transfer to another course of equal or lower value
  3. Transfer to another participant (only for offline programs)

Transfers are permitted with an administrative processing fee.

10. PAYMENT DISPUTES & CHARGEBACKS

If you initiate a chargeback without contacting DFRTI:

  1. Your account may be suspended
  2. Certificates can be revoked
  3. Verification access may be blocked
  4. Legal or administrative action may be taken

11. PROCESS FOR REQUESTING A REFUND

To request a refund:

1. Send an email to care@dfrti.com

2. Include:

  1. Full Name
  2. Email Address
  3. Phone Number
  4. Course/Program Name
  5. Enrollment Date
  6. Payment Receipt
  7. Reason for refund

3. DFRTI will review your request within 5–7 working days.

4. Approved refunds will be processed within 10–15 working days.

12. EXCEPTIONS & SPECIAL CASES

Refunds may be considered under extraordinary circumstances:

  1. Medical emergencies
  2. Technical issues preventing access
  3. Duplicate payments
  4. Incorrect amount charged

Supporting documents may be required.

13. CHANGE IN POLICY

DFRTI reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time to:

  1. Meet legal standards
  2. Improve transparency
  3. Enhance digital forensics learning systems
  4. Address institute management requirements
